My first App

First things first. Immediately upon receiving my new Droid2, I installed TuneSync so I could wirelessly sync my iTunes playlists with my phone. I'm not necessarily an avid audiophile. However, I was starting to get a gut and needed to get out jogging. And without music, I only last about a mile.

I installed TuneSync Lite just to try it out (as well as the OS X host), and within minutes I selected the playlists I wanted on my phone and was syncing my mp3s with R2 across my home network. Not the fastest way to transfer songs, but now every time I modify my playlists or add new songs, my mobile playlists would sync. It was beautiful. So then I dropped 5 bones, bought the full version, and hit the pavement.

When I got home, however, I tried to perform a wired sync, but it made my phone and my MB freeze, multiple times. I would recommend just sticking with the wireless sync.

Bottom line: slick app, easy interface, wireless sync works better than wired, a little pricey at $5. And getting back in shape still sucks.

My conversion

I recently rocketed warp-speed into the 21st century.

Back in 2005 I bought my dream-phone: a Palm Treo 700w from Verizon.  It did everything: played mp3s, took 1mp pics, had voice command, and synced with my cal/contacts.  I even had the fancy stylus with a built-in pen.  It was absolutely amazing, even though I never did end up splurging for a data plan.

I had been eying the iPhone for years, but all my wife's fam and friends were on Verizon, so I kept waiting for it to come to Verizon.  But it didn't.  Then Android started tickling my ears with its enticing interface, free apps, and booming following.
So finally, on Oct 19, 2010, after much anticipation, I received in the mail the Droid2 R2D2.  Converting from Palm to Droid was a little like converting from pogo-stick to Tesla Model S.  I quickly had over 100 apps downloaded, and am enjoying the ride.

Having been a tech nerd since receiving a Popular Science subscription in 3rd grade, I thought it was time to log my technology experiences, joys, heartaches, and frustrations.
